the lighter side

…in any situation, there is something we can learn, for us to grow as a person.

A Visa Application Dilemma for Carey

Posted by mom811 on Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

As you can read in my previous post, Ed and I submitted our visa application last week, ahead of Carey.

While we were still here in Negros, the plan was for us to request the Czech embassy that the application of our daughter would be considered, as her passport at that time was still processed in the DFA office in Ilo-ilo, and would be released on May 9 yet. We explained the circumstance so the embassy would be informed of the actual situation, and might help so she could be with us on the 17th.

On Monday when were at the embassy, we know it could not be, and she had to decide which option to take. Definitely, she cannot be with us on the 17th. Even while I was still at the embassy, I talked to her to notify her it couldn’t be. She then requested me to go to the KLM office to find out what are her possible options, regarding the ticket she has bought, date of which has to be changed. Questions are: can her ticket be used still for another date? If the date can be changed, how much will she have to pay? For how long will her ticket be valid? Oh, these are just questions for the airlines.

Other concerns are: How about her invitation? Can the same one be used for a changed flight, or will it have to be changed? And how about the date of her insurance coverage, will it be changed too? And many more.

This airline matter, I did the following morning, as there was no other time, our flight back home to Talisay would be in the evening! Our daughter is still  negotiating as to the date of her flight. One good thing we have known, at least: she can use the same ticket for the same amount, though it will be on a later date, thank You, Lord!

Meanwhile, we keep on praying for the Lord to guide us what to do. We just have to trust this is for the best of all concerned. Praise the Lord!
