the lighter side

…in any situation, there is something we can learn, for us to grow as a person.

A Night in Amsterdam

Posted by mom811 on Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Our flight from Manila to Prague, with stopover in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), was Saturday, May 17. Due to bad weather boarding was delayed, and upon reaching Amsterdam, we were told our plane had left 30 minutes earlier. So we were directed to a certain counter to arrange for flight transfer, and to another for accommodation, and still to another for the bus direction. It was a big airport, but were several walkalators, and an elevator, along the way a help? We had a baby to carry, which Dy and I took turns, as Ed had also a heavy stuff with him, Dy’s laptop. We had overcome it anyway, thank God.

While waiting for the hotel shuttle at the bus stop, I had my first taste of the European biting, chilling cold – brrrrrr!!! Was that below 10 degrees? Upon reaching our hotel, we were so much relieved especially when we reached our room – it was a 4-star accommodation, and all inconveniences were wiped out, most especially when we had our dinner (for me, that could be 5-star!). It was a sumptuous display of various food, buffet style – but we can only take a little per capacity of our tummies :). We can only praise KLM for arranging everything at their expense.

I can never forget this one night spent unexpectedly in Amsterdam! Thank You Lord!
